Rogues for dummies

Some say that rogues are one of the more difficult classes to play, but really if you just read though your abilities and realize what they do then it is very easy. You have to keep a focused mind and be aware of the status of your Cooldowns and the time on your debuffs on your current target.

From a PVE standpoint i tend to like mutilate the best. It requires you to use daggers of course and all you do is spam mutilate until you get 5 combo points on the target, make sure you have slice and dice up and use envenom when you have 4+ combo points on the target. You will want to use instant poison on your main hand and deadly poison on your off hand. With this spec when you use envenom you will not lose the stacks on the target and it refreshes the duration of your slice and dice to its full duration. It really can not get much easier that that. If you are looking how to spec best i suggest going to wowarmory.com and looka t some of the top rogues. You can also modify it a bit to fit your play style if you like.

From a PVP standpoint again mutilate is in my opinion the best. Lots of burst damage and with the proper use of cool downs you can lock someone down and kill them without them even getting away. If you are serious about arenas and want a high rating i suggest you get a good skilled resto druid as your partner for 2v2. 3v3 is a bit different as i have seen several combos that work well. Rogue/Ret/Resto druid, Rogue/Warr/Resto druid. Resto druids are a rogues best friend lol. They are so Over powered it is rediculous.

Macros for arenas include the popular cleartarget/sap, focus blind and you might find some other helpful macros at arenajunkies.com under the macros section. A must have addon for arenas is Gladius which can be picked up from curse-gaming.com Also browse through some of the rogue addons and find some you like and try them out. I am a clicker so i use Dominos to keep my action bars toward the center of my screen so i can always keep an eye on my target.

I would hardly call this information "advice", but it is a good place to start and i realize it is very vague. I might post about how i play different combos in the arena later, but for not this is all. Good luck to you in your rogue adventures. =)
